Lions Club Drive-Thru Dinner
Date: October 13, 2016 (Thursday)

Description: Volunteers from both the Leo and Lions clubs helped prepare and serve food to citizens of our community who bought drive-thru dinner tickets to help us fundraise.
HMA Harvest Festival
Date: October 27, 2016 (Thursday)

Description: Leo members cooked burgers and worked a fundraising booth during our school's "Harvest Fest."
Monte Vista PTO
Date: November 11, 2016 (Friday)

Where: Monte Vista Elementary School, 701 W Westfield Ave, Porterville 93257
Description: Similar to our own Harvest Fest, Leos helped elementary school clubs fundraise for their own accounts.
HMA Hot Chocolate Giveaway
Date: December 9, 2016 (Friday)

Description: Since the holiday season is a time for giving, Leos began writing kind messages on styrofoam cups and filling them with hot chocolate, to give to HMA students during our brunch break.
Rosebowl Float Decorating
Date: December 27, 2016 (Wednesday)

Description: Leos helped decorate the Lions International Rosebowl float in Orange County over their winter break.
"Posts of Love"
Date: Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2017

Where: HMA Quad, Harmony Magnet Academy, 19429 Rd 228, Strathmore 93267  &  The City of Porterville
Description: Leos wrote kind messages and inspirational quotes on sticky notes and posted them in the heart-like configuration on a 2' by 2' poster.  Afterwards, we hung these posters up around the city of Porterville. Keep in mind that Valentine's day was coming up :)
"Donations for Dominic"
Date: January 12, 2017 (Thursday)

Description: The Leo Club bought pizzas to sell during lunch. All proceeds from this event went to Dominic Allen's family. Dominic is currently a 7th grader undergoing lymphoma treatment in the Napa area.

Zack Aqra Heart Disease Awareness Day Fundraiser 
Date: Feb. 25, 2017 (Saturday)
Hours Earned Per Volunteer: 5h 30m
Where: Jacob Rankin Stadium, 1701 E. Putnam , Porterville 93257
Description: Leos helped out a local cause by setting up a carnival booth "Ping Pong Fishing," in which all proceeds were donated to heart disease research.
Keep in mind that this is our club's first active year. We will be offering many, many more events for our Leos in the future!

Seth Gonzalez Root Beer Float Fundraiser

Description: A fellow Leo member of ours, Seth Gonzalez has recently been involved in a very frightening motorcycle accident. Seth is now in Critical Condition at the Fresno Trauma Center. To come to his family's support, the HMA Leo Club will be hosting a Root Beer Float Fundraiser in the Quad at lunch.

 
Kid's Fest
Date: April 1, 2017 (Saturday)

Description: We will be joining our sponsoring Porterville Breakfast Lions in reading to children, supervising play areas, and manning our very own Leo football toss booth.

 
Porterville Spring Cleaning 2017
Date: April 8, 2017 (Saturday)  
Hours Earned Per Volunteer:

Where: Heritage Center, 256 E. Orange Ave., Porterville 93257 (Staging Area)
Description: A community cleanup event put on by Porterville Leadership and Habitat For Humanity. We will be assigned designated areas to clean up around the City of Porterville. This is a great hands-on event to be involved in. Lunch will be provided, following the cleanup.

 
"Helping the Elderly"
Date: May 6th, 2017 (Saturday)  
Shift: 3h 30m
Where: Porterville Convalescent Hospital, 1100 W Morton Ave, Porterville 93257  &  Sierra Hills 2500 W Henderson Ave, Porterville, 93257
Description: In the coming weeks, Leos will create tie-knot blankets to give to the elderly in Sierra Hills Retirement Center and the Porterville Convalescent Hospital. On May 6th, the HMA Leo Club will spend the day with these elderly people, keeping them company.
